Positive Pressure Ventilation Solution: Building a "Life-Saving Smoke Barrier" for a Jakarta Skyscraper Landmark

In the bustling Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) of Jakarta, Indonesia, a newly constructed 50-story commercial skyscraper landmark was facing extremely rigorous fire safety inspections. In high-rise building fires, the most lethal element is rarely the flames themselves, but rather the toxic thick smoke that rapidly spreads through elevator shafts and corridors.

To safeguard the lives of thousands of office workers inside the building, the core emergency stairwells must be equipped with an absolutely reliable positive pressure ventilation system. However, this presented a massive engineering hurdle:
Extreme Duct Resistance: Forcefully pumping fresh air from the rooftop mechanical rooms down through nearly 200 meters of vertical supply ducts entails staggering air friction resistance.
Failure of Standard Equipment: When faced with this immense resistance, standard axial fans or low-pressure fans suffer a catastrophic drop in airflow, completely failing to establish effective smoke-prevention air pressure in the lower-level stairwells.
Faced with this life-or-death engineering challenge, the building's electromechanical contractor selected the POPULA 4-72 Series Centrifugal Fan as the core power source for their positive pressure ventilation strategy. The most critical engineering advantage of this equipment lies in its steady pressure curve and exceptionally high total pressure, making it a heavy-duty weapon born to overcome complex duct networks and ultra-long vertical shafts.
We deployed a matrix of large-scale 4-72 Type 10A models across the building's refuge floors and rooftop mechanical rooms to establish an invincible smoke barrier:
Massive Airflow Intake: Powered by a robust 55kW motor roaring into action at 1,450 r/min, the fan instantly intakes a massive fresh airflow of up to 56,605 m³/h.
Astonishing Total Pressure: It unleashes an astonishing total pressure of 3,202 Pa. This terrifying air thrust acts like a shot of adrenaline into the towering supply shafts, effortlessly punching through the resistance of nearly two hundred meters of ductwork.
Stable Pressure Difference: The powerful airflow is continuously and forcefully pumped into the emergency stairwells, ensuring that the air pressure inside the stairwell always remains higher than the burning corridors outside (stably maintaining a positive pressure difference of 40-50 Pa).
This invisible "air shield" completely locks out the intrusion of toxic smoke. Field tests proved that no matter how frequently the fire doors on the burning floor were opened and closed, the thick smoke from the corridor could not cross the threshold. Relying on the formidable and stable air supply performance of the 4-72 series, this positive pressure ventilation system flawlessly passed the live-fire smoke drill inspection by the Jakarta Fire Department on its first attempt, successfully securing the safest, purest golden evacuation route for the entire skyscraper.
