Poultry House Ventilation System: Eliminating "Heat Stress" at a Thai Broiler Farm

At a modern poultry farm in Khao Yai, Thailand's major broiler export region, each standard closed-type poultry house densely rears over 30,000 white-feather broilers. Since broilers lack sweat glands and rely entirely on respiration to dissipate heat, Thailand's year-round hot and humid monsoon climate acts as the farm's ultimate nightmare.

The combination of intense heat and trapped, stale air creates severe operational hazards:
Fatal Heat Stress: Extreme temperatures easily trigger "heat stress" in the poultry, causing widespread feed refusal, a plummet in immunity, and even the tragic mass suffocation of thousands of chickens within hours.
Toxic Gas Accumulation: High-density rearing generates massive amounts of lethal ammonia gas and airborne dust, requiring immediate extraction.
To put an end to this disaster, the facility must rely on a robust poultry house ventilation system based on tunnel ventilation principles. This requires heavy-duty poultry farm exhaust fans at the gable end of the house to create a powerful negative pressure, forcing a rapid cooling breeze over the birds to carry away body heat while swiftly exhausting toxic gases.
Addressing the stringent ventilation demands of high-density poultry housing, the POPULA engineering team completely retrofitted the farm with our JS-II-13A (Motor directly driven type) Poultry Farm Exhaust Fans.
Direct-Drive Reliability: Compared to traditional belt-driven models, the direct-drive design completely eliminates the maintenance costs associated with belt wear and tear, boasting an incredibly rugged continuous operational lifespan in harsh farm environments.
Massive Airflow Output: Driven by a highly efficient 1.1 kW motor, a single JS-II-13A stably delivers a massive convective airflow of 44,500 m³/h.
Powerful Tunnel Extraction: We installed an array of these fans side-by-side at the end of the 100-meter-long poultry houses. When running at full speed, the tremendous negative pressure acts like a tunnel extractor, sweeping away stagnant air containing dust (≤100mg/m³) and low-corrosive ammonia gases.
Following the upgrade, the poultry houses achieved unprecedented survival rates. The powerful and uniform longitudinal airflow effectively lowered the perceived temperature of the broilers, completely ending the death toll brought on by heat stress. Feed intake returned to normal, and the target market weight success rate improved significantly.
Simultaneously, the energy-efficient motors of the JS-II-13A slashed the farm's massive daily electricity expenses. The inclusion of the front-and-back protective net design effectively prevents wild birds and debris from getting caught in the impeller, ensuring absolute safety for 24/7 continuous operation.
